Mauricio’s journey to the practice began 16 years ago shortly after 9/11.  Stress and anxiety took its toll and he realized that he had to change some behaviors and take action to improve his health.  He learned through meditation and breathing that stress can be managed. He then joined NY Sports club and it was there that he met his first Yoga Teacher, Diann B. and his life was changed forever.  The physical practice was not what appealed to him but it was the things that she said and how she said them that hooked him in to the practice.  As an example she would say that we are not human doers and that we are human beings and life is about how we are being with each other.  That still resonates with him to this day.  He is a prime example of how Yoga can help one manage stress and anxiety and find those precious moments of peace.  One of the reasons that Mauricio became a Yoga teacher was to deepen his practice but to also pay it forward.  If he could find moments of peace using the practice of Yoga then as a teacher he can provide moments of peace and stress relief for other people.
